GREETING

Definition
Greeting is customary or ritualy set words of phrases use to introduce one self or to greet someone. Greeting can be expressed both audibly and physically and often involve a combination of the two. Greeting are often, but not always used a conversation.
Greeting Card is a piece paper (ussually is decorated with picture) and applied to give congratulation for someone.

How to you introduce your self:
  • Hi, I'm Tami
  • My name is Nanat
  • Hello, I'm Diaz
  • Let me introduce my self. I'm Yuanita
  • Good morning, Sir. I'm Rachel, your new secretary.
How do you introduce other people:
  • I would like to introduce Eric
  • I would like you to meet Nico
  • Please let me introduce the keynote speaker for this occasion, Ms. Rebecca Coogan.
  • Jelita, I'd like you to meet my cousin Vina. Vina, meet my best friend Jelita.
  • Dad, please meet meet my english teacher Mr. Erwanto. Mr. Erwanto please meet my father Edi.
  • Godman, this is Jenny. Jenny this is Godman
Informal Greeting:
  • Hello, (use person's name). How are you?
  • Hi, (use person's name). How are you doing?
Formal Greeting:
  • Good morning (use person's name). How are you?
  • Good afternoon (use person's name). How are you?
  • Good evening (use person's name). How are you?
Note:
  • Good morning: midnight until 12 noon.
  • Good afternoon: 12 noon until 6 p.m.
  • Good evening: 6 p.m. until midnight.

Informal Introductions

Udin: Ross, this is Harry my friend from Medan.
Ross: Hello, Harry. Nice to meet you.
Harry: Hello, Ross. Nice to meet you too.

Formal Introductions
Lia: Nanda, allow me to introduce you to my Auntie Kate from Australia.
Nanda: I'm very pleased to meet you Auntie Kate.
Auntie Kate: I'm very pleased to meet you too, Nanda.
