DEFINITION

Procedure Text is design to describe ow something is achieved trough a sequence of steps or to help use to do a make something. They can be a set of instructions or directions.

The Generic Structure:

• Goal: the final to purpose of doing the instructions.
  
• Materials: ingredients, utensils, equipment to do the instructions.
  
• Steps: a set of instructions to achieve the final purpose

Languege Features:

• Use simple present
• Use imperative sentences (stir, hold up, etc.)
• Use temporal conjuction (first, next, finally)

Example:

How To Make a Sandwich
(Goal/Aim)

Materials:

• a slice of bread
• peanut butter
• a banana
• honey

Steps:

1. Take two slices of bread
2. Spread peanut butter
3. Cut up two banana into small slices and put them on one of the slices
4. Pour some honey over the banana
5. Put the other slice of bread on top
